What the workshop is about
Humans and robots working together need a shared understanding of goals, intentions, and context. XR gives both a shared spatial medium: it can show a robot's planned motion before it happens, reveal its internal state, let people teleoperate from afar, or prototype robot behaviour before any hardware exists.
XR4HRI brings together researchers from human-robot interaction, robotics, HCI, and the XR community to discuss these systems, share early results, and try out each other's demos.

All editions
The series started in 2018 as VAM-HRI at the ACM/IEEE HRI conference. In 2026 it became XR4HRI and additionally moved to ISMAR to strengthen the bridge between the HRI and XR communities.
